2012 RESNET Building Performance Preconference Offers Two Day Pre-Conference Texas HERO Comprehensive Energy Auditor Training
On February 25 & 26, the 2012 RESNET Building Performance Conference will offer the two day Texas HERO Comprehensive Energy Auditor Training.
This two day course is based on the Texas Home Energy Audit Standard, developed by Texas HERO. Texas HERO's Standard is recognized as a home performance certification program to certify comprehensive home energy auditors under Section 705.3.2 of the RESNET standards. This course is designed for current HERS Raters who are interested in pursuing the existing homes market.  Participants who pass the course requirements will receive a certification that meetsRESNET's Comprehensive Home Energy Rater requirements. Current certification as a HERS Rater is required prior to attending this course. This comprehensive training focuses on diagnosing and prioritizing improvement recommendations, software analysis, writing scopes of work and gas and combustion safety testing. This course includes both lecture and practical application.
This course includes a 2-hour written exam, multiple, choice, open resource (standard and course material). The students will jointly perform an audit on an example home, observing the performance combustion safety tests being conducted. Students will then perform software analysis and produce scopes of work. The certification is valid for 3 years.
The training will be presented by C.T. Loyd of Texas HERO.
